e-SENS cooperates with ISA for semantics interoperability

The e-SENS architecture should be aligned with a number of policies and regulations, including the European Interoperability Strategy (EIS), the European Interoperability Framework (EIF) and the European Interoperability Architecture (EIA), and must closely follow current initiatives that may affect technical developments. Coordination with key programmes for interoperability issues is therefore a priority for the e-SENS project.
The e-SENS project has recently discussed a common field of cooperation with the Interoperability Solutions for the European Public Administrations programme (ISA), whose aim is to facilitate cooperation between public administrations in Europe. The ISA programme, whose key task is to promote the interoperability of electronic public services, creates a common framework for Member States that allows them to develop effective electronic cross-border services, while supporting similar initiatives that foster the development of the digital single market by removing barriers in the delivery of public services.
The key field of ISA interest in the e-SENS project is semantic Interoperability. The crucial areas for further cooperation were found to be Core Vocabularies, Interoperable Testbed and the new approach to a European Reference Architecture. A common approach to re-using ISA developments and collaboration tools was also considered.

The e-SENS project and ISA will continue to make the best use of each other's experience and developments. Further meetings are planned for the future.
