About the event
CeBIT 2017 was the last event, where e-SENS has been showcased to the wide public. e-SENS main booth was located in the EU Village together with other EU financed initiatives in the Hall 8. Supporting, second booth, was located in the Hall 7 at IT Planungsrat. The main theme of this year’s booth was "Digital Public Services Across Borders". e-SENS was presented there together with Me-CODEX, TOOP and eIDAS. Visitors could discover a number of interesting gimmicks like a multi-touch screen, RFID-based information spots, games and quizzes, presentations, videos, click-through live demonstrations, experts’ statements and other gadgets. Interactive elements provided guests with hands-on access to information and data relating to the booth's slogan “Digital Public Services Across Borders”.
The stand also highlighted the EU legislation, which addresses the challenges of connecting Europe with a particular attention given to the Regulation EU 910/2014 (the eIDAS Regulation), providing the legal framework for the cross-border recognition of eID means and trust services. During the five day exhibition at CeBIT, several VIPs visited the booth. The main one were Andrus Ansip, who also had a speech about the status of works on the Digital Single Market in the EU, and commissioner Vera Jourova.
